You will find many routes for hiking and mountain biking around Vila do Ouro.
Just for trained people! There are many hills to be taken.

Beaches

The beaches of the Algarve are world-famous. The beautiful bays surrounded by impressive red and sand colored cliffs give you a fascinating panorama. All beaches have a blue flag, which means excellent water quality! Besides enjoying the sun, the sea and the beaches, you can go for magnificent hikes along the coastline. A good starting point for such a hike is Praia do Evaristo, which is at just 8 kilometers from Vila do Ouro. Many beaches are just 10 - 15 minutes away by car.

Ocean

The Atlantic Ocean is nearby and very important for the Algarvian lifestyle. The beautiful clear water is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, diving, sailing, surfing (West-Coast), canoeing, windsurfing, kite surfing (Alvor) etc. Jet-skiing, water skiing, banana rides and para-sailing are available on beaches nearby Vila do Ouro.

Amusement Parks

Zoomarine is only 10 kilometers away from Vila do Ouro. Zoomarine offers a wide range of shows for young and old: dolphins, sea lions, seals, aquarium, 3D movies, playgrounds, attractions and swimming pools. Excellent for children and adults!
There are also different water parks, which will be a great success with your kids. Nearby you will find: Agualand in Alcantarilha, Slide and Splash in Lagoa and Aguashow in Almancil.
Krazy World is located in Algoz. This park is a combination of a small zoo, swimming pools and amusement park. It will be fun for the younger ones.

Jeep Safaris

Albufeira has several companies organizing trips to show you the most beautiful spots of the Portuguese countryside. Far away from the beaten track you will explore picturesque villages and the amazing flora and fauna of the Algarve. Such a trip will take the whole day. Golf

Pine Cliffs is located just 15 kilometers east of Vila do Ouro. This golf course lies along the coastline on impressive cliffs and with ocean views.

Boat Trips

An alternative way to explore the beautiful coastline is by boat. You will see very rare cliff formations. From Albufeira to Lagos there are many hidden caves. Take a nice coastal cruise to discover the secluded beaches and caves of Gale. It is possible to make a stop for swimming or to take photographs. Such cruises are organized almost daily from Vilamoura, Albufeira, Portimão or Lagos. You can choose from different types of cruises like day trips, sunset cruises, glass bottom boat trips and even wild-dolphin spotting.
